1) It stopped working as the html 5 audio tag doesn’t seem to
work as I expected any more and I did not have enough R & D
time to continue debugging. Even now I cannot get the html 5
element to appear. in this test post

2) Others were not happy with the UX… at least in this context
it was better to simply instantiate a media elements player control
below the slide show and then let the user choose to listen or
not.. .i.e. not synchronous with the slideshow and no auto start on
being to play the slide show… I get complaints from certain
people who actually don’t like music to automatically kick in on
the browser.

Anyway, for the record here is the code on the page. The first
div holds the slideshow and the second div holds the audio player
and you have have some CSS to set the width and margins for the
audio controller.

<div id="gallery1360896922" class="slideshow-galleria"> </div>
<div class="audio-player" style="margin-top:-30px;">
 <audio id="audio-" preload="none" src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/raj-guru-chronicles-audiobook/the-guru-chronicles-roger-narayan-audition.mp3" type="audio/mp3" ></audio>

</div>

But, again, I switched to simply instantiating a media elements
player below the slideshow, with no attempt to tie it to
Galleria:

'<div class="audio-player">
                        <audio style="width:394px;" controls="control" preload="none" src="/media/audio/inspired-talks/gurudeva/1962/cas0506_illusion-of-mind-fulfill-duties/cas0506_illusion-of-mind-fulfill-duties.mp3" type="audio/mp3" >
                        </audio>
                        <script type="text/javascript">
                        $(document).ready(function () {
                                   var mePlayer = $('audio').mediaelementplayer();
                               });
                        </script>
                </div>

I really don’t think I ever got the JS properly coded (I’m out
of my depth there…)
